Sleeping Beauty....

So, Kyle might be a spitting image of Chris, we've established that he sleeps like me.

Okinawa Snow

It's January and it's just now starting to get cold.

Do we get snow here?

Uh no.

We do get Okinawa Snow though.

What is that you ask?

Rain. Cold rain. Lots of it. As in never ending.

It's been chilly for a couple weeks now and during those couple weeks I think I've seen the sun once or twice.

Gotta love that Okinawa Snow. I wish it was more respectful of my errands though. Two boys under 4 + lots of rain and puddles = one frazzled, wet, and cold Mommy.

At least I know why Okinawa is so GREEN all year round.

I think I need to invest in a set of family rain boots.

Okinawa Diving 2011

While we were on our trip to the States, Chris finally got certified to dive and it's become one of his favorite things to do when the weather is good enough.

He's come up with some awesome photos of the world below the surface. Almost makes me want to get certified. If only I wasn't such a chicken....

^^^^^^ Can you find the fish? ^^^^^^

Now that it's winter time, it's harder to find a good time for him to dive, but come spring, Im expecting some more great pics!

November 2011 Recap

November was a fun month. Okinawa Parent's Club (formerly known as MOMS Club of Okinawa) Thanksgiving Luncheon, White Beach Fall Festival, and of course Thanksgiving Day!

It was tough this year being away from family. Last year, Mom and Gma Donna were here to help us celebrate Thanksgiving. I missed Grandma's cooking this time around!

The White Beach Festival was a lot of fun. The boys got to play on the bounce houses and slides to their hearts' content. We even play a few fair games, where they won a couple prizes.

This year, Chris went to the ball stag. It was at the same place as last year, so I really didn't feel like going. Plus, last year we had built in babysitters (aka Mom & Gma Donna)

When it came to the big day (Thanksgiving!!), I was a little nervous about cooking the turkey. I'd never cooked one before! I can officially say I cooked that turkey GOOD! Of course, I had to call Gma Karen and Gma Donna for tips first.

Chris had one of his Marines come over for dinner instead of hanging out in the barracks by himself. It was nice, since I made enough to feed and army. He was happy to go home with a ton of leftovers though!

What else happened in November?

Well I got my Christmas toes from Cocok's. I am seriously going to miss the nail art they are capable of here! So neat! I got snowflake landscape.

A great month, if I do say so myself. And one month closer to us coming home. Less than a year now!

Happy Thanksgiving from the McClellans!!

Kyle's 2nd Birthday

My baby is now 2 years old. Can you believe it? TWO! It seems like just yesterday SEAN was the 2 year old. Where does the time go?

To celebrate, we had a little laid back party at Kyle's favorite park with a few of his friends and of course PIZZA! That kid sure does love pizza.

After the pizza party, cupcakes, and presents, we headed out to the Crow's Nest Club for some BBQ and, little did Kyle know, to see the Dirty Sock Funtime Band Concert!

If you know my little man at all, you'll know he LOVES to dance. When the show started, he got his groove on and we had a blast!

I loved how interactive the band was with the kids! Kyle even got to sit on one of the character's lap while they sung a goodbye song.

It was a great way to celebrate our little man's 2nd birthday and he still loves dancing to the Dirty Sock Funtime Band songs.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Kyle!

We love you!

MOMS Club Camp Out 2011

We went out to White Beach for a camp out with the ladies from MOMS Club and had a blast!

Now when I say "camp out", it didn't involve tents, but actual campers. My kind of camping! Anyone who knows me knows Im not much of an outdoorsy girl.

The kids had a blast staying up late watching movies and the adults had fun BBQing and making smores.

Halloween 2011

Still trying to play catch up.

The boys were Spiderman and Superman for Halloween this past year. They did alot better than the year before, that's for sure. Sean finally understood "Trick or Treat" = CANDY and Kyle followed suit. We just went around Kadena this year.

We also made a trip to the Halloween Kiddie Disco, even though the line was incredibly long.

Lots of candy and family fun. Since we live off base, there weren't many trick or treaters in our neighborhood. (The locals don't celebrate Halloween.)
