A Big Thanks to the USO and MCCS Entertainment!

Sadly, I honestly had no clue what the USO was until we made our trek to Okinawa. Being a military brat and a Marine wife, I definitely should have! You don't really notice it much when you are on base in the States since you are able to live your lives outside of the military community more easily than you are able to here. Here you revel in the military community, sticking together, and trying to make the best of being in a foreign country.

In alot of ways, the USO is helpful in doing just that. My experience with the USO and MCCS (and NAVY) Entertainment here in Okinawa has made life here more exciting.

In Jan. of last (yes last, as in 2011 O.O) year, the USO helped put on a Montgomery Gentry Concert! Even better? They hosted a Meet and Greet! Truly a one time experience. How many people can say they got to meet Montgomery Gentry FOR FREE. That's what the amazing thing is. The USO helps put on concerts and shows and they are all free to the service members and their families.

They were on a roll with great country stars coming out here! They had the Frontmen Concert which featured the singers from Restless Heart, Lonestar, and Little Texas. I was SO excited for that one! We got to meet them too! They were nice and Lizz was joking with them about going to a karaoke bar. HAHA!

One of the annual events the USO puts on is the Sesame Street show! The boys LOVED that one! Elmo and friends are always a great time in the eyes of a 3 year old.

I can't thank the people behind the scenes enough. You're awesome!
