What do those three things have in common? Only the fact that I loaded them onto my computer at the same time. Therefore, they are going into the same blog post :)
Monica bringing out her inner child. :)
Baby Milo is getting so big!
The kids ran around while we dicussed our book of the month, "Bet Me" by Jennifer Cruisie! I highly recommend it! It was a "can't put down" book. I think it took me a day and a half to read.
Moving on....
I don't know how much I've mentioned it, but Sean is having EDIS appts now. EDIS stands for Education and Development Intervention Services and it is a Department of Defense program that helps active-duty military members' special needs children from birth to 3 years of age living in base housing by providing free in-home physical, speech, occupational, and cognitive therapies to help them reach their age-appropriate developmental milestones.
Sean isn't talking as much as a two year old should. After his evaluation, the EDIS agents said that he didn't need speech therapy. He's good at repeating stuff and doesn't have too much trouble saying words. He does, however, have a problem communicating. Instead of asking for things, he still just grunts and cries and throws a tantrum. No matter how much I've tried to get him to tell me what he wants, it hasn't worked. He's been having EDIS appts now for the last two months and he loves it! He's been doing alot better and talking alot more! He loves his teacher, Mrs T and gets really excited when she comes to play with him. She is great about involving Kyle too!
It's really nothing extensive. Mrs T comes and plays games and uses puzzles, but it's alot of repeating and using direct words. She is able to capture his attention more than I can and it's finally starting to spill over in our daily routines!
We've tried to be more hands on with Sean! While "bubbie" was napping, we spent some time fingerpainting with Sean! He was ecstatic!
We had a blast and Sean got covered in paint! :)
