Ryukyu Mura

We went with the Workman Family to a place called Ryukyu Mura. It resembled an old Okinawan town! Quite a bit of interesting stuff! Chris got to pet a Hubu snake! *shudders*

These little people are called the Kijimuna. They are Okinawan tree spirits and are in almost all of the Okinawa folklore! You will see them all over Okinawa since they are unique to the Ryukyu Islands, Okinawa being the largest one!

They are about the size and shape of a little boy, and like so many Asian folk-creatures, they have red hair, which may or may not cover their bodies.

These guys are Habu snakes. Much more venomous than most snakes in North America.

This is jars of dried Habu powder (Habu Ko). It is supposed to be a great energy powder and have great health benefits! Ew.

These guys are natural enemies. The Mongoose and the Habu. They used to actually let them fight in front of an audience, but to make it 'family friendly', they've stopped doing that. Now they play a 3D video with horrible graphics, but I don't think I would've rather seen the Mongoose and Habu fight. The mongoose is one of the only animals that could kill a venomous snake. The Indians used to actually fight the mongoose and Cobras for sport. :(

Oh Em Gee, Chris is TOUCHING the freaking snake! EW.

I think these little guys are cute. Who knew they could KILL a Habu?!

Another Kijimuna. We saw alot of pottery with them on it!

Shisa Dog eating a Kijimuna. LOL

Ok, I promise not to 'tuch'. :)

Sea grapes. They are....interesting. Salty, but are like poprocks when you bite into them.

Eisa Dancers. They are alot of fun to watch!

This is by far the most interesting drink we've had so far, but oh so good! It's basically flan....in a can! It had little chunks of flan and was the consistency of a milkshake. Delicious!
